Who we are

Our Vision

We are building a space where women and allies can educate themselves about the issues that impact their rights and opportunities. Through shared learning, support, and solidarity, we will empower one another to take meaningful action. Our vision is a connected, informed, and motivated feminist community working together to drive lasting change — locally and beyond.

We’re a local chapter of the National Organization for Women, but more than that, we’re a collective of people who care deeply about equity, safety, and opportunity for all. This chapter grew out of a desire to bring feminist energy and action to Bloomington-Normal through education, advocacy, and connection.

We believe in the power of informed voices. We believe that when people feel seen, heard, and supported, they rise. And we believe that meaningful change starts at the local level — in our neighborhoods, our schools, our workplaces, and our daily conversations.

If you’re looking for a place to plug in, learn something new, or stand up for something that matters, we’d love to meet you.

You belong here.

Our Values

  • We believe in dismantling systems of oppression and ensuring that all people — especially those historically marginalized — have access to justice, opportunity, and representation.

  • We believe that knowledge is power, and we are committed to providing accessible, inclusive opportunities for learning and personal growth.

  • We cultivate a supportive, welcoming space where all members feel heard, valued, and connected — because we are stronger together.

  • We recognize that our identities and experiences are shaped by overlapping systems like race, gender, sexuality, class, and ability. Our work is guided by this awareness and an intentional commitment to inclusivity.

  • We move from awareness to action — showing up for our community, challenging injustice, and pushing for change through activism, policy engagement, and grassroots organizing.

  • We lead with integrity, communicate openly, and hold ourselves accountable to our members and our mission.
